The Ohio Athletic Conference has named sophomore Katharine Clayton as the Defensive Player of the Week for her outstanding performances in matches against Mount Union, Otterbein, and #15 Case Western Reserve.
In the match against Mount Union, Clayton led the Muskingum defense with 20 digs (5 per set), along with two assists, a service ace, and a kill. She continued her strong performance with 23 digs (7.7 per set) and three assists in a 3-0 sweep against Otterbein. Clayton’s stellar play carried on against #15 Case Western Reserve, where she recorded 25 digs (5 per set), three assists, and three service aces, leading the Muskies to a thrilling five-set victory. Over the three matches, she accumulated a total of 68 digs (5.7 per set), eight assists, and four service aces.
For the season, Clayton has recorded 289 digs (4.01 per set), 80 assists, and 19 service aces.
