It’s been a bit of a roller coaster for the Indianapolis Colts, who have shown flashes of being a good team but are struggling to string together wins this season.
At 4-5, the Colts are second in the AFC South and clinging to playoff contention, so they need to start putting together stronger games to outlast the field.
Unfortunately for Indianapolis, it gets a tough Week 10 matchup, as it’ll host the Buffalo Bills, who again look the part of a Super Bowl contender.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen is considered one of the best offensive minds in the game, but he’ll have his work cut out for him trying to game plan for a strong Bills defense.
Slowing down quarterback Josh Allen will also be a challenge, so Steichen will need to lean on the likes of DeForest Buckner, one of his defensive leaders.
Buckner recently talked about Steichen and offered his honest thoughts on his head coach.
“Not sugarcoating anything and letting guys know from Day One, ‘Look, this is the standard,’” Buckner said, via James Boyd of The Athletic. “… When you say one thing and you mean it, obviously guys are gonna follow you …”

Steichen seems to have earned the trust of Buckner, and the rest of the locker room, with his communication style and ability to hold others accountable.
In a season when things have been shaky, Steichen has gotten his team on the same page, and that could bode well against Buffalo and moving forward.
