The Sacramento Kings haven’t fared as well as they expected this season.

Some thought adding another 20+ points per game scorer like DeMar DeRozan looked good on paper, but others were worried that it could hurt their spacing.

The veteran has put up good numbers, but, as expected, defenses have been able to collapse on them, and you cannot win in today’s NBA without three-point shooting.

That’s why it’s not surprising that they’re currently very active in the trade market.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes, the Kings are trying to trade Kevin Huerter and his $16.8 million salary.

They currently have a 9-11 record and are 1.5 games out of the Western Conference Play-In.

There’s still plenty of time to turn things around, but Mike Brown’s team cannot afford to keep dropping games they should’ve won.

They have three All-Star-caliber players, and Malik Monk just returned from a seven-game absence, but they just need more shooting.

Keegan Murray has been a good player but has yet to take a leap forward and live up to his potential as a lottery pick.

With his three-point shooting, he might be the key to unleashing this offense, as spacing has been a major issue for this team all season.

For now, the team will have to continue exploring all its options and hope that it doesn’t keep sliding in the standings to stay alive in the playoff race.
