The Carolina Panthers have shown signs of life in recent weeks, and though they’re out of the playoff picture, the remainder of the 2024 NFL season is important to the team.
Despite losses to the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers should be proud of putting themselves in a position to have a chance to win both of those games.
Since being reinserted as Carolina’s starting quarterback, Bryce Young has been playing the best football of his young professional career and finally looks the part of an NFL starter.
Young’s development is a rare bright spot for a franchise that’s struggled to win in recent years, so these are valuable reps he can build on for the future.
Though the Week 14 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles could go sideways quickly, the organization should be hoping for another strong performance from Young and its offense.
Unfortunately, the Panthers defense will be without one of its leaders against the formidable Eagles offense.
“The Panthers have downgraded OLB Jadeveon Clowney and DB Nick Scott to OUT for tomorrow. They’ve elevated WR Dan Chisena (Penn State alum) and OLB Jacoby Windmon from the p-squad,” Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer wrote on X.

Clowney signed a two-year deal with Carolina this offseason and has had a strong year as a pass rusher with 3.5 sacks and seven QB hits.
Without the veteran, the Panthers could have a hard time generating any sort of pressure on Jalen Hurts, who can carve them up through the air or on the ground.
