The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs headed into Week 10’s matchup against the division-rival Denver Broncos having won all eight games they have played thus far, resulting in being the only undefeated team left in the NFL this season.
That undefeated status was put to the test on Sunday, as they played host to the Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and looked like a team that was about to lose in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter despite having a two-point lead.
Although all signs pointed to the Chiefs losing their first game of the 2024 campaign with the better-than-expected Broncos getting the win on the road, Kansas City showed its resiliency, as they were able to block what would’ve been the game-winning field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter.
As shown on the Chiefs’ X account, Kansas City was able to block Broncos kicker Wil Lutz’s game-winning field goal attempt, resulting in Patrick Mahomes and company improving to an impressive 9-0 on the season.

The last thing anyone expected in the closing seconds of this game was the Chiefs somehow getting the win, as this was a chip shot for Lutz and seemingly a foregone conclusion.
Fortunately for the Chiefs, the team was able to get the pressure that they needed, blocked the field-goal attempt, and pushed forward with their ninth straight win.
