The Golden State Warriors made a big move on Friday night.
Draymond Green returned to the court after missing one game with a calf injury.
However, he didn’t do so in his usual spot.
The former Defensive Player of the Year came off the bench for the first time this season, with Jonathan Kuminga taking his spot in the starting five.
Nevertheless, he was far from bothered by that.
When asked about Steve Kerr’s decision to move him to the bench, the veteran forward claimed that he’s always been a huge fan of Jonathan Kuminga, so it only makes sense that if he’s going to play a pivotal role in the future of the organization, it only makes sense that he gets his opportunity now (via 95.7 The Game).
More from Draymond on moving to the bench:
“I know a lot of people in this organization including myself think he (Kuminga) is next. So if he is next, at some point we gotta see it.” pic.twitter.com/lLzDYGTeUt

Coach Kerr reportedly spoke with Green beforehand, and he was completely on board with the idea.
Of course, it didn’t necessarily work out well, as the Warriors still lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a blowout, but it makes sense in the long run nonetheless.
Kuminga struggled early in the season before shifting to the second unit and taking his game up a notch.
Some still aren’t sure about whether he’s the player this team needs right now and that the team should pair him with other assets to get a win-now player.
Then again, the talent and athleticism are more than evident.
The Warriors haven’t been at their best lately, and if Kerr believes this lineup shakeup is for the best, he must continue to ride with it.
