The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that senior Wyatt Reeder, junior Tobie Teke, junior Weston Melick, and sophomore Sam Palmieri have earned All-OAC baseball accolades for their performances in the 2024 season.
Reeder, a Second Team selection in the outfield, concluded his season in historic fashion by setting the single-season school record for stolen bases with 36. With this number, Reeder also led the entire Ohio Athletic Conference in stolen bases on the year. Reeder had a great season that was capped with 44 hits, 33 runs scored, 17 RBI’s, a .326 batting average, and a .414 on-base percentage. He also added in eight doubles to help accumulate a career-high slugging percentage of .385.
Teke, a Second Team selection in the outfield, is earning his second-straight Second Team All-OAC accolades following his impressive campaign this season. Teke logged 42 hits which included six doubles, two triples, and three home runs. He batted in 29 RBI’s while tallying 35 runs scored himself. He batted .302 on the season, with a .439 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage by accumulating 26 walks. Teke also finished second in stolen bases in the Ohio Athletic Conference with 25.
Melick, an Honorable Mention selection at first base, finished his season with an imposing .375 bating average that ranked 12th in the OAC. He also finished tied for 10th in hits in the OAC with 51. Melick added in a .440 on-base percentage, .458 slugging percentage, 31 RBI’s, and 30 runs scored to his season totals. Melick was also a large contributor in the stolen-bases category with 12 total bases stolen to rank eighth in the OAC.
Palmieri, an Honorable Mention selection at second base, finished the season with a profound 41 hits, 44 runs scored, 24 RBI’s, 28 walks, 28 stolen bases, while batting .315, having an on-base percentage of .475, and a slugging percentage of .538. Palmieri ended the season with 10 doubles, two triples, and five home runs. With these numbers, Palmieri lit up the OAC leaderboards by being ranked inside the top 10 in home runs, stolen bases, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, and walks.
This season, Muskingum finished with a record of 20-19, which combined with last season are the first consecutive seasons with 20-wins since the 2009 and 2010 campaigns.
