On Friday evening, the Charlotte Hornets sped past the Indiana Pacers with a 103-83 win.
LaMelo Ball posted 31 points, seven rebounds, and six assists during the game but it was the fourth quarter when he did the most.
He scored 17 points in the last 12 minutes of the game, which isn’t that surprising because he’s been dominating the fourth lately.
As pointed out by StatMuse, Ball has the most fourth-quarter points across the entire league so far.
He has scored 89 points in the final quarter of games.
Most PTS by quarter this season:
1Q — Tatum (122)
2Q — LaMelo (80)
3Q — Tatum (80)

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum has scored the most first-quarter and third-quarter points with 122 and 80.
As for Ball, he’s also scored the most in the second quarter, with 80.
For the season, Ball is averaging 28.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists on 44.5 percent from the field.
If those numbers hold, this could be the best season of his career.
However, Ball will have to stay healthy for the whole year, which has been tough for him in the past.
With that being said, he is looking healthy, tuned in, and highly competitive.
The Hornets are now 4-5 after their win over the Pacers and things seem to be clicking more when compared to the last several seasons.
Are they ready for the playoffs again?
It is too soon to tell about that but they are definitely a lot more fun to watch, partly because of Ball’s terrific skills.
He’s been one of the most talked-about guards in the league since entering the NBA, but now Ball is making a name for himself as a fantastic closer as well.
