No. 2 North Dakota State won the 2024 Dakota Marker, defeating No. 1 South Dakota State 13-9. With the win, the Bison end a five-game losing streak to the Jackrabbits.
North Dakota State quarterback Cam Miller showed off his clutch gene on the final drive of the game, going 7-7 passing for 76 yards while rushing for six yards on the drive. All but one play on NDSU’s game-winning drive resulted from Miller, including his touchdown pass to RaJa Bell.
Defensively, the Bison limited reigning Walter Payton Award winner Mark Gronowski to less than 100 yards passing or rushing and without a touchdown.

66 yards. That’s how far back up quarterback Chase Mason ran for a touchdown from a quarterback counter out of a two-quarterback formation. Yes, Mason and reigning Walter Payton Award winner Mark Gronowski were on the field at the same time on the scoring play.
The touchdown is Mason’s first of the day on just his third touch. Last week, Mason scored three touchdowns on seven touches.
After the touchdown, Hunter Dustman’s extra point was blocked. South Dakota State remains down one point. Click or tap here for live stats from the game.
