The Muskingum baseball team swept Chatham in its season opener. The doubleheader was played in Cadiz, Ohio at Mazeroski Field. Muskingum won the opener 12-5 and took the nightcap in seven innings, 11-0.

- Junior Weston Melick had four RBIs and one run as he went 2-for-3 as a batter.
- Both sophomore Louie Hess and junior Tobie Teke both scored two runs and two stolen bases. Hess added a double as he went 1-for-2 from the field.
- Sophomore Sam Palmieri earned three runs and was walked three times.
- Sophomore Mike Davis and freshman Grant Mellerson each finished with a run.
- Freshman Shoei Yamashita pitched five innings, throwing 58 pitches and 43 strikes. Yamashita totaled four strikeouts and earned a win.
