The Brooklyn Nets are young and inexperienced.
They’ve been more competitive than most talking heads thought they’d be at this point in the season.
Their 4-6 record doesn’t reflect how they’ve played, as they have a point differential of -11 points after ten games.
Then again, it’s not about how you start games as much as how you finish them.
That’s why Cam Johnson, one of their few veterans, addressed those issues after blowing yet another lead, this time to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Following the close loss, he talked about how the team needed to stay competitive and not take its foot off the gas (via YES Network).

The Nets led by double digits late in their road loss to the Cavaliers.
They were minutes away from handing Kenny Atkinson’s team its first season loss.
Instead, they continue to march strong with an 11-0 record.
The Nets will go through some growing pains like all young teams do, but they’ve shown some encouraging signs under Jordi Fernandez.
Unfortunately, if the losses keep piling up, they’ll likely part ways with some of their veterans before the trade deadline.
Needless to say, Johnson is one of their top candidates for finding a new home this season if things continue to go south.
It’s still early in the season, and there’s still plenty of basketball to be played.
But late-game execution and attention to detail are two things that set good teams apart from bad ones, and they must address those issues before it’s too late.
