Jimmy Butler’s tenure with the Miami Heat is going out sad as the two sides have taken to the media to take shots at each other.
Butler had been rumored to want out of Miami, and he recently made his desires public when he said he had lost his joy playing and needed a change of scenery.
Pat Riley just a couple of weeks ago denied that the team was shopping Butler, but now is forced to explore deals after the star wing blew up any sort of shot of reconciling.
Several teams, including the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets, are already inquiring about Butler, though a trade doesn’t appear imminent.
Meanwhile, the Heat fanbase has already begun to turn on Butler for his words and actions.
Recently, a Butler mural in the city was hit with changes to reflect the fan base’s thoughts on him via NBACentral.
“Heat fans are turning on Jimmy Butler. They made a mural calling him a quitter.”

On the mural, someone added a sticker on Butler’s jersey that reads “Clearance trade!” while another features him wearing a headband that says “I quit” on it.
These are some harsh edits to the mural, though it’s hard to blame fans for feeling the way they do, given how Butler has operated the past month.
While some of his poor play can be attributed to injuries and health, it’s clear that he also appears checked out on the floor.
Butler’s days in a Miami jersey are over, and it’ll be interesting to see where he lands.
