The Cleveland Browns headed into the 2024 NFL season with high hopes of putting the devastating playoff loss to the Houston Texans behind them and getting back to form as a team that might be able to contend for a Super Bowl title with one of the best defenses in the league and a formidable offense.
Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as planned for the Browns this season, as the team never came together offensively and once again dealt with costly injuries, with star quarterback Deshaun Watson again going down with a season-ending injury.
Even before Watson was officially ruled out for the rest of the season with an Achilles tear, the Browns couldn’t find any consistency on offense, which seemed to be the team’s biggest issue, leading to a five-game losing streak early that the team never recovered from.
On Sunday, the Browns hoped to get the best of the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers for a second time this season, but this time on the road at Acrisure Stadium.
Despite putting 14 points on the board against the elite Steelers defense, Cleveland couldn’t contain Pittsburgh’s offense, resulting in a 13-point loss and officially being eliminated from playoff contention via FOX Sports: NFL.

Even though getting knocked out of contention seemed like a foregone conclusion for the Browns, Cleveland was hoping to have at least bragging rights against the division-rival Steelers by beating them in both games they would play against one another this season.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, and now the team has to prepare for the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs next week when they are back home in Cleveland.
