The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into a challenging Week 10 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, battling both injuries and timing.
Their 4-5 record tells only part of the story, as the team grapples with a growing injury list that includes star receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
Their absence has raised concerns about the Bucs’ passing game, putting additional strain on quarterback Baker Mayfield to adapt with limited offensive weapons.
Because of that, and the quality of opponent, FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd sees trouble brewing.
“Tampa’s on a short week off a physical overtime game with Kansas City, their defense allows 33 a game, and they are falling apart,” Cowherd said, via FOX Sports Radio. “Baker’s not healthy, couple of the backs aren’t healthy, Mike Evans still out, Vita Vea isn’t 100 percent. This is a bad, bad spot for Tampa.”
“This is a 𝗕𝗔𝗗, 𝗕𝗔𝗗 spot for Tampa.”

The 49ers, meanwhile, appear to be hitting their stride at just the right moment.
Coming off their bye week, they’re welcoming back key playmakers Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings.
This roster rejuvenation has bolstered Cowherd’s confidence in San Francisco covering the spread with a comfortable 30-20 victory.
Kyle Shanahan’s team has historically performed well after a bye week, securing victories in four of those past five matchups.
The 49ers are ranked second in total offense despite relying on backup running backs and receivers.
Their defense has maintained momentum as well, consistently generating turnovers in recent games.
The contrast between the two teams’ current situations couldn’t be more pronounced.
While Tampa Bay is scrambling to patch together a competitive lineup, San Francisco is emerging from its break refreshed and reinforced.
